Offer 2: Install solid wall insulation and get up to £3,750 (down from £4,000 in the first round of funding and £6,000 in the second round).

Wasn't it £6000 in the first round and £4000 in the second round?

Is this any good or is it a case of the installers etc just putting up the price because of the subsidy?

It is likely the is subsidy would be shared between the consumer and the installer which is fair

  • After navigating the pathetic government website, I found a grand total of four firms local enough to quote. Each quote was between £1500-2000 more than a local firm. Pointless.

STOP CALLING IT SOLID WALL INSULATION!!!

    It's external wall insulation.
  • I'm confused, I'm sure I saw an article not long ago saying green deal was in crisis and the takeup just wasn't high enough. Yet now more money is being put into the scheme? Or are there two different schemes?
  • SamDude - Thanks for flagging that, you're correct. We've amended that in the article.

Smiley Dan - It's both internal and external solid wall insulation.
