Intelligent Phone Number - Creative Solution

Good Afternoon Guys,

I'm starting my own business and am looking to see if there is a similar phone solution to my current employer that I could incorporate.

Our company uses Teleware Voicemail systems and on a daily basis I call the voicemail system record my daily greeting and register here and now (in other words tell the system where to send my calls.)

It is very simple to use and allows me to use my home phone without giving these details to clients (to them the connection is seamless) where I don't have coverage on my mobile phone.

So I'm looking for a provider that can supply me with and teleware solution or alternatively a VOIP equivalent.

I currently have VOIP setup via a Linksys PAP2 (sipgate and voipstunt - thanks Bextech) so am able to setup a voip solution.

Another alternative I'm considering is a new mobile phone with Wireless and setting up my VOIP on my mobile. Where I don't have wireless I could get sipgate to send me an email telling me I have voicemail. Ideally I want all calls to reach me when I'm working.

Your creative thoughts are welcomed.

Thanks in advance

I haven't heard of this Teleware thing before, but you could take things with your Linksys further (I use a SPA-3102 myself) and hook it up to an Asterisk server which you can log into externally (obviously set up security etc). You could retrieve voicemails there, you can set call rules for inbound calls (use a free voip number if you don't want to give your home number) and I think you can also configure it to accept instructions via phone as you do at the moment.

Could I suggest https://www.voxilla.com and the forums there as a port of call for info? They were really helpful when I first got started with voip, helping with understanding and configuring the technology. I often browse around there myself and I think you could find what you're looking for.

  • Thanks for your help - I think I'll try adding additional features to my Linksys VOIP solution.

    Thanks again
