We consume a lot of pure orange and prefer Tropicana. Local Spar shelves full of packs with "only £2" printed in red on the top of the pack. On getting these home, realised the pack size has been reduced from 1 litre to 850 mls.
Tesco currently have 2 x 1 litre packs for £3.50

How exactly is it a rip off?
It is up to you whether you buy it or not, check sizes etc.
Different shops charge different prices, they always have, and if you've been grocery shopping for some time, then you should know that by now!!!!0 -

Of course I know it and thanks for letting me know its my choice - never knew that before!
In all my years of buying this product it is the first time I have seen 850 ml packs. Yes I missed that fact at the time but I think that launching a new smaller pack with the previous rrp of 1 litre emblazoned on it is misleading.0 -
Al, who put the bur under your saddle these past few days?0

Tesco selling Shloer for ONLY £1:50 per bottle at Christmas. SPAR selling IDENTICAL bottle for £1.00....
Buyer Beware !!!
A RIP Off is when a company/person or group off such has a monopoly on a product that everyone has a need for and is selling it at Vastly inflated prices..... On the OJ..... you buy it anywhere!!0 -

Poundland and all those other pound shops do exactly the same..... look at their pack sizes compared to "normal" pack sizes..... they've been doing it for years..... It's all about perception..... it looks the same size but it isn't...0 -

This is a money saving forum, so it is to be expected that people will post cost comparisons and alert others to changes in pack sizes, etc.0 -

Exactly. Well said warmhands:T0 -
What was the previous RRP? If they are using it as a comparison with a product of different capacity that is definitley a no no and you would have every right to complain.
If however it just gave a single price point ( £2 ) then you should have checked.
Tesco do it all the time - put a product on offer and but it will be 10% or so less by weight that the standard product...I am a Financial Adviser specialising in Mortgages, Protection, Health and Medical Insurance. I agree.
But as warmhands pointed out, it is not a rip off, but a fact of 'shopping' life.0 -

Not just pound shops, certain chocolate bar multi-packs have gone from four to three in Sainsbury's, but still a pack of four in Asda. I guess that lets them side-step their price comparison as well.0
