Searched on the forums for some information about this but doesn't seem to be any.
A warning - if you are planning on responding to DR+L, I would do it through post rather than email. I submitted an email to them, and now it appears they are just using my email addresss as another method of harassment
So stick with the letters so they have as few methods of communication as possible!
Think this must be a new tactic as when I've emailed them previously I've never had a reply.

I think no advice is available on that subject because it comes under :

A warning - if you are planning on responding to any debt collector
Don't0 -
This comment is OT in the sense that there is no point in contacting a debt collector at all over a fake parking fine, but if you do want to email someone without giving them your email address there are plenty of free, disposable email address services e.g. Mailinator, 10-Minute Mail, Guerilla Mail.Je suis Charlie.0

I responded to them based on the advice in the Newbies stickies thread, which says either ignore or robustly respond - the linked threads say the best idea is robustly respond, to stop the debt collectors thinking it is so easy to get away with harassing people. Maybe the stickie needs to be updated if this is the incorrect advice.0

Thanks yes I'm aware of the vast amounts of information about them. I was simply warning people if they are going to contact them, to write a letter rather than email. And after searching the forums and sticky threads, I couldn't see this advice, so thought I would post it in an attempt to help others.0

Lots of people respond to Debt Collectors, and on advice from the forums, where a 'debt denied' letter is sometimes advisable, usually to drop the PPC in it with the DVLA, where you just know that the Debt Collector will carry on regardless and a breach of the KADOE agreement can be demonstrated.Je Suis Cecil.0

Yes thats exactly what I sent them, a 'debt denied' letter.0

but after that you IGNORE them
in fact, I would always advocate IGNORE DRP and other debt collectors completely in the case of parking charge allegations
but as was mentioned earlier, never use your proper email address, use a trashmail one or one you have setup for trash , like yahoo , gmail or hotmail , just not your actual one used for ebay , banks etc
they are never going to stop harassing people until forced to do so, possibly by parliament or a court order or whatever
deal with the organ grinder only, not the monkey0
