Im having problems with word

Hiya
When i try to type in a word document the hour glass on the pointy thingie keeps showing up which in turn is slowing my typing down and making me miss letters if you see what i mean its driving me mad im unable to put windows disk in as i dont have one...i have also been into settings for the auto save thats set to save every half hour so i dont think its that.
Does anyone know how i can fix this problem

Do you have a Brother or Lexmark printer?

Find the normal.doc template and delete it. It will get recreated then next time you start a doc. It's just possible that you have a bad normal.doc file.
Without the Office install CD, it is not possible to do the standard "detect and repair".0 -
