Leasehold Information

Hi All,
Im trying to get hold of the leasehold information - I know it is £300 per year, I have informed my mortgage company they asked for official documentation, so I emailed the HM Revenue and Customs form stating the lease cost for the next 12 months. This was not acceptable, EA gave me a note but this is not detailed enough. I have emailed the EA tonight to see if he will help and put something more detailed together.

Where else can I get this information? Who should provide it?

I'm really frustrated as lender have said if they do not get it by close of business tomorrow they will close our application and make us apply again!!!! Our first house fell through!....

Am so frustrated with this whole business....

Slow solicitors, people not calling me back...grrrrrr

Presumably they want to see the lease which you will need to check over for any other relevant info too. Your seller's solicitor needs to get it for you.
  • They just want confirmation of the cost - not the lease!

But if they want something 'official' with the cost on, and what you've given them isn't enough, then perhaps the lease is what they need! That's the most official thing you'll get, with the costs with respect to any ground rent, anyway.

If they want to know annual service charges as well, then I'd say the best thing you can get is a letter from the Managing Agents confirming the Ground Rent and Service Charges per annum.

How far down the purchasing road are you? At some point (pretty early on!) your solicitor should be asking for the last three years' management accounts for the property, with your percentage. That should certainly be more than enough official information for the mortgage company - but I'd be surprised if they're asking for that level of detail; usually it's the ground rent and service charge.

    Best of luck!

' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".

    Hi There

You can obtain a copy of the lease to registered property from LR. You need form OC2 and a cheque for £7 and send to our Citizen Centre for processing.

Please see our guidance at 4. Get a copy of the deeds on the GOV.uk website

why haven't your conveyancers come up with this information? It's fairly straightforward stuff - copy of the lease and management pack.
