Hi All.
Hopefully putting this in right area, as I am after some advice.
OH is getting really bad walking and mobility at the age of 55. Doctors have taken him off all pain relief as making him Anaemic . This has now ended up with him being virtually housebound, or at best mobile with the aid of a walker.
We went away for Xmas and he rented a transportable mobility scooter, which helped a lot, but wasn't comfortable, as he felt every bump in the pavement and road.
He is now looking at getting a scooter for home, one with really good suspension, doesn't want a road legal one ( ie 8mph speed) wants it kept at 4mph to use on pavements, but is really comfortable and not bounced around on.
Does anyone have any recommendations on good makes/models and anyone good to buy from. He wants to buy new, not off the likes of Ebay or gumtree, as wants some back up if anything goes wrong.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello,
Found this thread by accident and dont qualify by age for this section of forum just yet (hubby does so i was being nosey) but i've been using 'wheels' for 5 years now and have tried allsorts.
The small boot scooters don't have suspension and although brilliant for convenience are uncomfortable.
I use a liteway 8.. It can still be taken apart for a car boot and has good suspension and the 'captains seat' style which has a higher back and more padding.
That version is for the class 3 road scooter but they also do a liteway 6 (which is limited to pavement i believe) and a liteway 4. I think they will be well worth a look.. as i don't think there is much else different between the models apart from speed and battery size, so comfort should be similar.
we bought mine last april and I am very happy with it for 'dog walking' and going to corner shop, taxi company even take usto country park (we have a tarp to protect their boot). It will go over grass and gets me up the grass slope in the park so I can sit and enjoy the scene, but it is by no mean soff road and i am often a little to ambitious. Very light steering and easy turning circle. One downside is you can't recline the back, it's either up or folded, but you can set your preferred angle during setup.
It came unassembled in a massive box.. but hubby dealt with that. Be prepared to pay a bit extra for assembly and set up for online purcahses if you can't manage youself.0 -
You could try www "." mobility.wales
