linked addresses

Hello.

I've been checking my experian report and note that in the linked address section my bank has been repeatedly linking my current address with a previous address.

I would of course expect this on or around the date that I moved (2011)however I haven't been linked with this address for many years.

I have just found out that my banks loans department has had me at the previous address in their systems all this time. Would that explain the link? And if so, why would the bank be reporting this to experian in 2014 when the loan was satisfied in 2008?

as long as the account is still open or listed, the link will show, if the account was not opened at the previous address you can get the link removed.

The longest an account stays on is 6 years after closing it, an open account will always show, the link too, if relevant to the account.

My noddle one has a previous address record dating back to when I was first on the electoral register even though I last used the address when I was a student (it's my parent's house) about 12 years ago. I think my student loan stuff is still registered there so possibly why it's still coming up but I don't have any other financial records linked there.

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
