Credit Agency Product 'Matching'

I have registered with all 3 agencies and they all seem to be offering product 'matching' services to reduce your chances of a financial rejection.

They say they don't leave an imprint and I am keen to see what is available to me based on my current position and financial status.

Is this recommended? I don't like completing forms that set out all my life aims/disclosing my income and that request a phone number and that I 'may be called'.

Are they just flogging your info on and would it be opening the flood gates to junk mail and pest callers?

Sorry if this has been asked a million times. Any good/bad experience would be welcome.

Any "service" the fee paying agencies offer you can get for free on these forums. Just cancel the subscription and save yourself cash.

Their advice will pretty much amount to:

    Get on electoral register
Spend on a credit card and pay off in full every month
    Don't default on any payments

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Use the eligibility checker for the products you are after on this site. They do not leave any record on your credit score.

They are free, do not pay for this service. Do not pay credit agencies anything except the standard £2 report.
