I'd say do the transfer. Reasons are
1 it'll save you some money
2 it'll really incentivise you
3 even if you don't clear it, so long as you keep payments up to date you may be able to access a better 0% rate when this one expires.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 11st 12lb determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Thanks INOD for dropping by.
Will give the money transfer a bit more thought though really don't want to stretch myself beyond realistic limits. Wish I could properly work out the savings but it's too complicated. If I take the money transfer it might mean me paying less to LSC while posting more to the CC but does that mean I'm negating some of the savings by putting part of the debt on 0%.
I'm going to look for a calculator online to help me with this.
Busy day at work today, I'm sure someone added in a couple of extra hours when I wasn't looking!
Took packed lunch to work and we had leftover lasagne for tea. A NSD for me which is rarer than hens teeth. :rotfl:0 -
Not a good day for us, DD3 decided to be too ill for school despite my best efforts to chivvy her along whilst dosing her up on cold medicine. Ended up getting half way to work then having to come back and take her to my mums for the day. Typically DD1 went back to Uni today otherwise she could have kept an eye on little one for the day. Its days like these that I hate being on my own. There is just no give in the system - if the kids are ill Im stuck. Also been whistfully thinking how nice it must be to really love your job..... does anyone here actually really love their work? I spent a good hour looking at job vacancies when I got home today but there's nothing especially exciting out there at the moment. Not at all keen on my new role although the ££s make it almost impossible for me to leave. Still, as the title of my diary suggests - there's only 2 years now (was 2.5) years until a new life begins for me. So I guess I should just get on with it and put up and shut up.
Glad its FRiday tomorrow. Was not a NSD today, I went into town in my lunchbreak and bought some cheap cosmetics. Used my discount card and got 10% off. So kinda saved some money.
Listed a few things on fleabay tonight. Need to package up the things ending at the weekend so I dont get caught with all that to do on sunday night.
Pay day tomorrow ...everything assigned to the budget but will update my totals tomorrow to cheer me up a bit.
Night everyone xx0 -
What a pain about your daughters illness and how you had no help. It is very hard when these things happen.
I'm self employed with my own business that has physical opening hours & the days that something unexpected comes up are almost impossible. In the summer my 6 year old decided he didn't like going to his holiday child care. So he started coming to work with me 2 day per week. It wasn't easy and I felt terrible.
Chin up & hoping it gets better soon.

Hello diary,
Thanks Bob.... always nice to know that Im not the only one that struggles sometimes with the kids... not that I wish the 'struggle' on either of us!
Its been a couple of weeks since I posted, work has me flat out and once I get home its cook the tea, tidy away and collapse.
Just took the time to update my signature now that pay day has been and gone. 9.9% paid off in 7 months. Its a long old slog but I'll get there one day!
Work still getting me down, Friday was a horrible day and I came away thinking about jacking it all in but of course, with bills to pay and a mortgage to feed, I can only but wish. Moaned all evening to my BF then felt guilty for being so childish. Now that Ive had the weekend to normalise myself again I will go in tomorrow with a positive attitude and hopefully not let everything get to me again. It doesnt help seeing colleagues from my previous job everywhere at work - it just serves to remind me what Im missing. Boo hoo.
In fleabay news, had a disappointment with one sale where the buyer not happy with a pair of boots I sold. I started the bidding low and described them fairly I think. Problem was that the bidding went sky high - and they went for much more than I anticipated. Now the buyer thinks they are not such a good buy and want to return them. Have agreed to refund on return but only because fleabay would find in the buyers favour if they opened a IND case.
Had a nice weekend with just me and BF. Went for a look around a nice local town and castle and today was treated to roast dinner out at a nice eatery.
Looks like the weather has finally turned autumnal. Time to get the winter boots and coats out I think.
Have a good week everyone. Will endeavour to post more frequently this week. Helps me keep focussed on money saving and debt busting.
Still havent decided about the money transfer with my cc lender.0 -
Heya
Oh dear sounds like work went a bit nuts there for a while. I'm sorry to hear that. But glad the weekend has been a bit of respite.
Sounds a bit unfair about the boots. But so many people are saying nowadays that ebay is a bit of a pain with how they always side with the seller.
Hope your coming week will be a good one.

Cheers for your wishes Bob... hope you have a good week too.

Wow its been over a month since my last update. I really need to keep checking in more regularly. Especially at this time of year. I've just received my xmas shopping vouchers that i save all year for so the present buying can begin. I save for £400 vouchers which cover most high street shops plus Amazon. Its my aim to get all presents using these vouchers which means quite a bit of research to ensure i use them to best advantage.
Work tomorrow. .The weekends fly past in a blink of an eye. Only 5 weeks till i break up for crimble though,. Looking forward to the break but not all the cooking!0 -
Evening Diary, its been another few weeks since i last wrote here.
Not much has changed except i seem to be haemorrhaging money at the moment. Some of it is just me wanting things and other bits like a new tyre for the car, bedding for DD2 and DD3's deposit for her curriculum week next year.
I had a small emergency fund from my ebay stints but this is dwindling fast.
Im finding it hard to stay motivated to save/pay off stuff. Im in a bit of a rut, just paying what i need to every month and not pushing myself that extra bit further.
Im spending on stuff I dont really need and in my position, its not good. I seem to think Im better off than i really am allthough saying that, Im not spending money I dont have. its just that the money can be put to better use. Its all so BORING though isnt it. Think I'll go and read some inspirational stories and maybe the long haul supporters thread.0 -
I've updated my signatures to cheer me up. Nearly £4k taken off debts since Mar 15. Not too shabby after all i guess.0
