opening a new bank account

I'm looking at opening a new bank account with co-op to do some match gambling however i don't want to close my current bank account that i have with natwest. Would I have to close my old account in order to get the £100 promotion deal or can I still keep my old account open?

You'd need to switch AN account to them. It wouldn't have to be THAT account. Co-op requires two active direct debits to be switched (and to remain active until after the bonus is paid.) There have been a few posts recently bemoaning delays in switching bonus payment, so don't be surprised if you find yourself waiting a couple of months for it! http://www.co-operativebank.co.uk/currentaccounts/125switch/terms-spoke

You'll need to use the full Current Account Switch Service

Using Switch Service = getting the old account closed.

Open a new account with, say, the same Natwest and then switch it if you want £100.
