Historical fund prices

Does anybody know if it is possible to get fund values for previous days?

I'm doing a new bit of analysis on my SIPP and hadn't been capturing data before now and just want to go back a month or so.

e.g. Artemis Global Income (Class I - Acc) on the 12th of Feb
I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.

You can get a chart with daily prices for the last month on the HL website

You can get an approximate value using a performance graph. e.g. http://www.hl.co.uk/funds/fund-discounts,-prices--and--factsheets/search-results/a/artemis-global-income-class-i-accumulation/charts
(Tick the "Display price rather than percentage" box)

Tell me the exact funds and, if possible, the Citi or Sedol code and I'll get you the data on whatever date you need

Put the name into Google Finance, and work out what their ticker is (which, of course, is incompatible with SEDOLs and ISINs and everything out there) - it's usually MUTF_GB:something. For instance Woodford Equity Income Acc A is MUTF_GB:CF_WOOD_EQUI_1LSHWZP (isn't it obvious?)

Then make a Google Doc spreadsheet. Let's say the ticker is in cell A1. Put the date you want in B2. If you do:
    =INDEX(GOOGLEFINANCE(A1;"close";B2);2;2)

You get the price for that day. This works for all symbols that Google Finance supports (most of the time, it sometimes goes N/A for no reason - closing and opening the sheet sometimes helps).

This is really, really, useful if you want to eg calculate values in historical currencies. For instance I have:
    =INDEX(GOOGLEFINANCE(CONCATENATE("CURRENCY:";$A3;"GBP");"close";$B3);2;2)*$C3
    and figures like:
    USD 2014/04/05 100
and it'll automatically backdate the conversion for you.

The Google Finance data isn't perfect (they've neglected it a bit) but the Google Docs integration is very handy.

Edit: so the Artemis fund is MUTF_GB: ARTE_GLOB_INCO_1VH4V71 (with no space) but it looks like Google has no data for that fund.

You could use the portfolio tool on trustnet and do a dummy buy of it and select the appropriate date to see the Unit Price
