Credit File & Mortgage Application

Hi,
Later this year I hope to be in the position to apply for a mortgage and purchase my first home.....
In preparation for this I have contacted the main credit referencing agencies to find what info (dirt) they have on me.
Everything is ok except the following:
I have contacted Co-Op about getting them removed and I have been told that 'they were applied for the correct reason'.
Is it worthwhile attempting to get these removed or not?

Everything is ok except the following:
- Jun/Jul 2010 - Two missed payments on Co-Op credit card. The card only has a £250 limit so monetary value of these missed payments would have been low. Since this date the account was managed well and it was settled in Jan 2013.
- Aug 2012 - Virgin Media one missed payment.

Is it worthwhile attempting to get these removed or not?

All lenders have their own scoring criteria so the effect of missed payments will vary between lenders. However IMO, one missed payment in the previous 3 years should not have any significant impact, and the 2 Co-op ones are coming close to 5 years old now, they will have less impact.
if you have other credit accounts that have been well managed, it should stand you in good stead.
I shouldn't worry too much about getting the Co-op ones removed, as the bank says they were applied for the correct reason, presumably you missed or made late payments for whatever reason. Not much room for dispute there, and as mentioned, they shouldn't have much effect anywayMortgage = [STRIKE]£113,495 (May 2009)[/STRIKE] £67462.74 Jun 20190
