Austria.. Take euro or Swiss franc

Friend said that it's better value to take Swiss franc rather than the euro, find that abit hard to believe

Comments

  • I have never taken Francs to Austria whenever I have gone. Any signs or requests for payments in any shops, bars etc is in Euros. Just my personal experience. Not been to Vienna, usually around the Salzberg area.

I share your suspicions about this.

    Hope this helps.

I also think that this sounds like very dodgy advice.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

We had five days in Austria last summer as part of a European tour. We used Euros everywhere we went including Switzerland.

Why would you take Swiss francs to Austria?

Exactly, why would you.. It's kaprun ski resort, not that that makes any difference
  • I have skiied at Kaprun many times. Euros all the way.

If you can get a booking, Hilburgers in the town is a great restaurant. Lovely food and friendly service. Ask for Christian as he will sort you out.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks
