Gladstones solicitors

February 2014 I overstayed my welcome at a local services. I parked a tad over the free 2 hour limit then £12 for 24 hrs pay and display. In my defence I thought these services were free parking as I was using Costa therefore a customer. Plus it was dark so never really paid attention to signs pointing this out.
A few days later I received A PCN, pay £50 or else etc
I thought it was a joke. Anyway I received the normal letters up to DRP letter. Which went up to £120. The last letter was in May 2014.
I heard NOTHING until almost a year later 2 March 2015. A letter from Gladstones solicitors. Which is not signed by a particular person so I find that very strange. It ended yours sincerely, Gladstones solicitors which is not from a pen but photocopied in somebodys handwriting.
They demand £120 or they will take me to court and they list the costs which add up to £202.
I have read other posts especially by Daisy (ex sol) and copied her template to GS.
Has anybody any advice or gone through this process? Thank you

Moto services are the clients. CP Plus Ltd sent me the first letters then DRP. Almost year later I get a letter from GS. Come on is this legal? How come so long? 9 months!!0

I repeat, who does the Gladstones letter say to call?
P.S. CP Plus has never brought a court case against anyone.Je suis Charlie.0 -

So it's just another in the chain of threatograms. Simply file away and ignore.
The claimant (Moto or, tenuously CP Plus, but certainly not DRP, have up to 6 years from date of the event to file a small claim).0 -
^^^^^^^^ This. All previous experience with CP Plus suggests it will stop soon.Je suis Charlie.0

I think this might actually end in a claim. Gladstones have touted themselves as able to enforce this stuff.
if this is a letter before claim respond in the proper fashion using the lazydaisy infoDedicated to driving up standards in parking0 -

Obviously it could end in a claim, but we've seen a lot of this fake-Gladstones stuff and I've never heard of a claim coming from it, certainly not from a BPA member. DRP must be sending out hundreds, if not thousands, of these.
And to the best of my knowledge CP Plus has never brought a claim against anyone.
A letter to Gladstones asking them to confirm who has instructed them in this matter might give them a bit of a headache.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Thank you guys for your input. I have sent a letter to day (a template from Daisy-another thread) and let's see what happens.0
