I like some others on here suffer quite badly, already have the dry itchy throat and itchy eyes. I can cope at the mo with Piriton to get me through the night. In about a month I have to start on the Benedryl plus (risiculously expensive) over the counter then June time, I end up with the steroid injection.

Does anyone know if GP's will prescribe Benedryl plus more than the 24 in a over the counter pack as it costs me a fortune - OH has it fairly bad too!
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice

Boots used to do tubs of 500 Piriton for under £10. Anyone know if they still do - only small packs on their website.

(I know these are not one-a-day, but still a good price.)

To answer my own question (!), yes they do at £8.15!

I normally get hayfever ,but it is usually the sniffy nose and streaming eyes in May/June. Within the last few days my eyes have become very very itchy , and I am wondering if the season has started early , well early for me . Any fellow sufferers oblige with an answer please?

I usually suffer from about March/April through to October, and it's been the same as usual this year so far icon8.gif

It depends which particular pollens you are allergic to - perhaps whatever the culprit is in your case has come out slightly earlier this year.

Are those similar to the normal 30 p/pack Piriton Allergy pills by GSK?

Does anyone have year round allergic rhinitis? If so do you use any pills for it? I tried all kinds of sprays and pills but the ONLY thing that works to get rid of the blocked nose is Dexa rhinaspray duo which is a corticosteroid steroid spray. Anyone recommend something i can try as that i can't take all the time, body comes resistant to it after a while.

Also, i suffer from a lot of allergies, dust mites, pollen, cat/dog fur, etc and the worst being heat rash/prickly heat when it sets off - the discomfort from that is unbearable. Thing is i've tried many different types of pills and i've never found something that would help - i always end up having reactions such as sneezing, runny noses etc etc. Does that mean pills are useless for a person like me? Or is there something i could try? I've tried pills with both loratidine and cetirizine which didn't really do much for me. I take piriton for the heat rash but it ends up creeping up on me when i'm in a hot environment which i guess means its pretty useless for me.

Anyone have any advice on what i can try? Any one gone under immunotherapy by any chance or know much about it? I've been reading a little bit about it and wouldn't mind trying it out if its supposed to help with allergies cause i have allergy symptoms pretty much year round.
