Very well hidden, I wonder why they never had a summer news letter.
Sounds as if they have had a difficult time negotiating with Southern energy. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
With such a low customer base, doubt they have the advantage in attracting other suppliers.0

So what exactly does this "benchmarking" mean? Will the prices go down and will they still be a set price for however much you use? Very confused!Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0

To me the statement reads that EBICO will become one of those that changed the prices 7 times, mostly upwards.
Scope tho to reduce costs with 6 monthly bills etc. On the other hand extra costs with prepayment customers.0 -
Does this mean an end to the set price and knowing exactly how much you are paying?Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0

Ebico have been leaned on. The beginning of the end, Melbury.
Still cheap for me tho., going off dual fuel would gain £25.0 -

That is such a shame. I was very late in switching to Ebico and so didn't really benefit from the prices they held until last September. I have no complaints about the customer service through Southern Electric though, they just send an estimated bill, I let them know the correct reading and a revised bill arrives soon after. Just hope this won't change.
Ebico don't do a dual fuel discount or anything do they? I am with them for both gas and electricity, but can't remember seeing anything about dual fuel rates.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
Melbury, no Ebico do not do dual fuel or other types of discounts. The whole ethos is one fair price for everybody, no discounts & no catchesWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0

It looks to me like the basis of their contract with southern has changed. Rather than a fixed price they will get a discount over southerns prices. As already said, you will see more fluctuations in prices in future as they track (benchmark) southerns prices. But it won't mean variable bills, just more announced price changes.
I'm also reading it as 'no price change this year', admittedly on little evidence.

So when did S&S reduce their prices last?
Seems like the wait for the " anticipated Sept reduction" will be a long one.
My last billing period was 6 months, ok in Summer but will be a shock over winter months.ac's lovechild0
