Hi, I have just split with my wife, we have a house worth around £1.4m, it is owned by her parents and we have a contract to pay a peppercorn rent, around £125/month, we dont pay it and the contract is in place to just protect thier property should we split up. We have been in the house for 5 years and been married for 14 years. The house has doubled in value since we got it. Am I entitled to anything? By the way I wasnt the one who did the dirtry on her! lol Many thanks

Why would you be entiltled to anything? You don't own any part of the house, so can't see that you're due anything. Sorry.
Presumably you've banked a fortune afer paying that little rent for years?0 -
If the house is owned by her parents, and you pay rent, I don't really understand why you think you'd be entitled on anything.0

youve been paying 125 a month for a 1.4milolin pound gaff for some years and you STILL want more cash off the inlaws?
this really beggars belief. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

OK, it's not a stupid question. Maybe this is just a stupid person talking out loud to themselves.
Sounds a thick and greedy c*** - no wonder she ditched him
Her parents saw what sort of bloke he is thank goodness.0 -
1.4 Million? and your paying £125 a month? Id say that the cheap rent on a house worth that much is more then enough wouldn't you? Are her parents rich? to be able to rent that house out for pennys they must have money to waste, especially when they know they can get way way more then that.
Im paying nearly £400 for a room in a student joint thats a state and a half.
Youd get nothing at all. Your only entitled to something when you 'both' own it. In thats case neither of you own it.0 -
Actually, is this a HPCer windup? lol0
