Anything "on par" will have the same fees. There's no other auction site with the traffic of Ebay. There are plenty of places to sell, some niche sites depending on what you are selling.
Check out your local markets for any second hand goods non professional trader day.

There is no eBay look alike, the alternatives all have different niche markets.

Amazon is probably the biggest of them , but they don't run auctions at all just sell against a catalogue, but their fees are still dearer than eBay.

Then there are sites like etsy for craft type items, or preloved. Probably the best alternative is just through selling on Facebook sites.

Ebay's fees are brutal, but their traffic is massive. Facebook has been a great alternative for me as there are no fees when you post in local selling groups. Just have to be careful selling through it as you won't receive the same protection as selling through ebay.

I am intrigued as to what seller protection you think there is on eBay?

  • The next best is probably eBid. It's a bit like eBay was 15 years ago.

Even 15 years ago eBay had buyers, so Ebid is nothing at all like eBay used to be.

Ebid is one of the only sites that I've ever lost money on, I foolishly took out their lifetime membership about 14 years ago and have never even sold enough to cover that cost.

Incidentally if anyone does want to give ebid a try don't fall for the lifetime membership on special offer- it is always on special offer.

The sad truth is, Ebid is a lot like Ebid was 15 years ago.
