0% Egg Card - BT Handling Fee

in Credit cards
I took out an Egg card back in January 2007 which was 0% until 1st October 2007 on BT and 0% on purchases until 1st July 2007.
I did a BT onto the card and no another transactions. I also got charged 2.5% or whatever the handling fee was to transfer by balance accross to the card.
Ok, all good so far.
I now find that Egg are now trying to charge me interest on my 0% BT because according to them the handling fee that they charged me is now subject to purchase interest, as the handling fee is classed as a purchase on the card. Now that is has gone past the 1st July and the 0% on purchases has ended, Egg are now charging me interest on the BT fee which they added to my card when I first brought the BT onto the card.
I have never had this happen to me before and am outraged that their terms and conditions don't state this more clearly.
I have never had this happen to me before and I have had previously Credit Cards with Egg.
I spoke to Egg and they said it was in their terms and conditions, but it wasn't made clear so they would waiver the interest until my 0% runs out on the BT in October. Fine, but its the principal that matters here, I can't find this clause in the T&Cs at all, they said it was in section 5.2 (i) - I can't find anything here on it!!
Has anyone else whether it be with an Egg Card or not, had interest applied to their BT fees? I always assumed that it was 0% including their handling fee and that the handling fee itself was penalty enough let alone sticking interest on top of it as well.
Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I am awaren all Balance transfer fees are charged at purchase rate (some I think even at cash rate) not the balance transfer rate.
Its why I think BTF's should be added to the interest rate as annual account fees have to be.
Martin a campaign for you BTF's to be included in the interest rate so a 0% with BTF can never be claimed as 0%I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0
