Probably not but if you think it was not a mistake, you greatly overestimate the competence of financial institutions!Call me a cynic but I doubt this 'mistake' would have been noticed if I'd capitulated and paid up straight away!
On a lighter note, I remember when I worked for an insurance company a claim was made for a lost bracelet.
Some time (over a year, I think) later the policyholder sent the insurance company a cheque with a letter explaining that the bracelet had been found around the neck of a Mr Edward Bear, a friend of his daughter.0
