Twitter again -some do choose winners?

I had a Twitter win the other day so sent off my details to the blogger who was running the competition.
I then got a reply from them saying that I hadn't actually won, and their winners tweet (with correct number of winners for prizes) was a mistake.
Apparently they had my profile open and included me in the winning tweet by mistake...hmmmmm....curious given the prizes matches the number of winners.
They then offered me compensation of a higher value than the small prize as a consolation...hmmmmm again (though I turned it down).
All the tweets have now been deleted with no public winners reannounced.

It does make you curious why my profile was open, almost like they were choosing who should win based on content.

Sadly I think its not uncommon for people to "choose" who they want to win even Rafflecopters - How many winners are actually the first picked and how many are picked after the Competition Host has had a good look on their "winners" social media before deciding if they deserve to win. (I know many Bloggers (usually beauty) hate Compers so if they see like and share Competitions all over their Profiles probably pick another winner)..

I once won a Competition it was announced and then I had a huge long email explaining there was no competition and it was a social media experiment and then went on to make out it was a student project and some other complete rubbish... If that was the case why even announce a winner..

You do see some strange things whilst Comping!
