Others had not considered the zero sum game aspect, in which money given to their charity would be at the expense of other charities, so the cause would not actually benefit overall.
I totally agree. If you start a charity with the purpose of paying yourself a salary, it is being totally disingenuous in all sorts of ways, but mostly to the people who will donate money, time, or goods to the "charity".0
