Can you ask for a £10 or £20 sub from your work or a co-worker just to get some food in today for you and the dogs?
That seems to me to be the most immediate problem.:happylove0 -
I'll be honest with you. I took a sub 3 months ago from work, as I couldn't meet my rent payment. I borrowed £150 out of my wage early. Then when I got paid they forgot to take it out. So now this month (the month that I really needed a full wage), they have taken £75 out of my wage, and they will do the same next month. So I deren't ask them again. I have only been with the company for 6 months.
I will write to all my creditors as someone has advised, and I will ask them to put my accounts on hold for 28 days.
This will then (hopefully) give me time to work all my financies out and for my OH to get a job.
Then when i write to them again i should be able to offer a repayment that i can meet every month along with a cheque for my first payment.
does anyone have any suggestions in the mean time? i need to find £55 for brighthouse as they want paying tomorrow. I have pleaded with them to wait until the 13th (even though i know full well i cant afford the full payment then anyway), and they have said i need to make the payment now or lose my stuff.
also.. what do you all do when you have no money on the ''in your own time'' subject? obv you cant go to the cinema, or to the pub, and you cant have a romantic meal if you cant afford the stuff... so what do you all do?
we are getting so fed up with tv now!My baby boy is now 8 weeks old.

GET HELP WITH GROCERIES SO THAT AT LEAST YOU DO NOT STARVE IN THE MEANTIME.Local churches usually hand out bags of groceries to people who are in desperate situations. They don,t ask for proof of your situation, basically if you go to them they trust that you need their help. All you have to do is phone up your local vicar, you don,t even have to go to their church or know them at all.Just ask if there is some sort of church aid for locals in trouble and he will probably tell you to just knock on his door for a chat. You will hopefully get much needed emotional support as well as groceries."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0

Regarding the brighthouse debt.Rather than lose out all together, might you be able to pawn the TV for enough to cover the payment of £55.Keep the laptop as the internet community is obviously a much needed lifeline.
It just postpones thing though as you would still have to come up with the money to get the TV back within a month usually and find the next payment when the time comes.
Its not ideal, but it will keep the wolves from the door regarding this at least for now and buy you some more time.
Pawn shops are everywhere these days. The most common one I have seen is called Cash Generator and there,s probably one of these or something similar nearby."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
i have just spoken to my mum and she said ''looks like you need a food parcel''. some people judge my mum as she wont just lend me money like my MIL does. but i can see why and how my mum does it, and i love the way she helps, im so grateful to her. she wont EVER lend me any money as she knows she probably wont see it back for a very long time.
instead she will take me to asda and get me some food shopping, or if i am desp for a pair of trousers for work and have nothing else to wear, then she will take me to the charity shop and get me some.
she knows too well if she gives me money i will prob spend it on someone else. i feel so ashamed, like a drug addict as they decieve too dont they. they borrow money and say its for one thing, but then spend it on something else.
why am i so terrible with money? xxMy baby boy is now 8 weeks old.

In your own time you could offer your dog-walking services to your neighbours and friends, put the TV on eBay (you don't need it)... and check out more money-saving ideas. Try googling 'creative frugality' and look for ideas. As making something to sell would require an initial outlay, how about thinking of other skills you can sell, individually or together? For time out, check out your local library. Books don't require electricity!
Have I said something useful?

i cant sell anything on ebay as i owe them £50 for selling fees
otherwise i would sell the tv, and then look of freecycle and see what free things they are giving away. then anything free being given away i could take and sell ours. but ebay is a no go at the moment. My baby boy is now 8 weeks old.

Thank god for mums, they always seem to step in and rescue us just when things get too much.Mine is a star too, although now that I am getting older I have to rescue her sometimes too."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -

Not sure where you live but if anywhere near South Yorks we have a huge bloomin 28" tv free to good home! Its collecting dust in the bedroom.
I can't really think of any ways to help you further than what others have.
Re entertainment hand on heart me and my husband have not been out for over 3 years now, this is where I sound really sad! We both like ps2 games, once a month ish we will have a singstar night and a few beers. We play board games or just sit without the TV on and have a laugh!0 -
Heres a little trick to postpone the gas and electricity bill.It will just postpone it though but will maybe give you some more time to get sorted out with a new job etc.If you phone up with the new meter readings they have to print up and send out a new bill which replaces the last one. This will give you days or weeks at the most before they start chasing you for the new bill though and don,t keep doing it or you will just end up with a massive bill because you havn,t paid for months.
There is also some funds available through utility suppliers themselves for customers who are in financial difficulty.Try to find out about those, they are charitable departments of the company,I know EDF has info on one on their site but do a web search for others. They can clear your back bills for you depending on your circumstances,so you could start afresh again."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0
