Further to my previous postings, the 2nd pair of glasses have also proved faulty - one of the arms came off! Since g4u refused to repair the 1st pair, which was only just over 6 months old at the time, I will not bother to ask them to repair the 2nd pair, which are less than a year old. I will simply not buy from them again and would recommend anyone reading this to do the same.

I did tell them about the 6 years rule i.e. common law says the seller must repair the item up to 6 years after the date of purchase, but they refused to comply and then hypocritically claimed they comply with all consumer laws!

Why another thread when your other one is already on the 1st page (and you've already bumped it)?

And as said in your other thread - your understanding of the 6 year rule is flawed.

You are completely wrong about the 6 year rule in both threads. If you really did understand SOGA you would know about your obligation to prove an inherent fault after 6 months. That's even if SOGA applies in this case as it appears the company is US based (despite having a .co.uk website - where are the glasses shipped from when ordered on the UK site?).

Don't let facts get in the way of your rants though heh?!

Did they fall off their chair laughing at this fairy tale?

There is no '6 year law'. As previously stated on your other thread, 6 years is the statute of limitations.

If a product fails within 6 MONTHS the retailer has to replace, repair or refund. After 6 months the onus is on you to prove an inherent fault. Only if the item is found to be faulty at the time of purchase does the retailer have to repair, replace or refund (with a resonable deduction allowed for the time you have had the product).

All irrelevant because you didn't buy from a UK company though.
