according to that its not. Actively managed fund are not any better than investing in a index fund in the long term

    In the US, the internal taxation of funds is different to the UK. It is very difficult for active management to beat passive in the US. Plus, the US market is very inward looking. Portfolios tend to be very US heavy.

    In some markets, passive is best. In some areas, active can offer something. The key is to using both where they are best. Not being biased either way.
