Unrecognised old debt on credit file.

Heya guys, I just checked my credit record on Noddle and I have seen an old debt for £14 from a company called Arrow Global in default since August 2011 registered to an old address.

I looked up the company and they seem to be a debt purchasing company that has represented the telecoms sector. The only possible thing this could be is an old Orange mobile broadband account that went in my name for my Mother. I am certain she was keeping up with payments and I have not heard anything from either Orange or Arrow Global regarding this account (surely they can track me down if they want the money)

Now here's my problem what should I do? my rating on Noddle is low and this is the only thing that could be bringing it down everything else is either up to date or settled, so what should I do? Should I contact Arrow and settle it, or is there anything else I can do, seeing as I have just noticed this (I haven't had much need to keep ontop of my credit record up to now.)

I only ask because I would like to look into buying a car on finance and I don't want this to affect that.

I just find it odd that they haven't tried to contact me or even find me it seems.

It being settled would only be a minor improvement.

Saying that, Arrow do record incorrect dates and or mistrace debts to the wrong person quite a lot, so could well be worth disputing.
