Tiling hallway with patterned tiles

Hi,

We are going to be tiling out hallway with symmetrical patterned tiles. Please see layout of hallway below and my initial layout idea to keep thing symmetrical with edges of hallway.

The main issue is that the front door is not centered. It to the left by a good few inches. Initially, I though of making the centre line line up with the centre of the door but then though that when viewing from the inside and coming down the stairs it would seem out of balance.

What would be the best/correct way of laying the tiles. Is the right way the way I have sketched in the image?

Many thanks,
MR
