Even so an actual check looking for small changes in names might reveal an of-shore status, they are all "at it" these daysI do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
Thanks everyone.
Time is of the essence as son has to post his defence statement tomorrow to hit the deadline. - We waited as long as poss in the hope of receiving the UKCPS package first so we could respond to whatever they included - but didn't expect this.
We will add in something about the VAT issue - I have noticed that that is something that came up around the Beavis case as well.
All I can think of doing is creating the statement as we had BUT adding an initial statement in response to this claim by UKCPS.
I am just thrown by this turn of events - my stress levels have skyrocketed and now I feel by pushing my son to defend his case I have got him into a real mess :-(0 -
The landowners are very suspicious of the actions made by these two individuals. They may not be part of any campaign, that's up to the Court to decide for themselves, and the the Landowners decided to bring this matter and the matter of Mrs B to Court;
Except it's not the landowners who are bringing this action, but UKCPS. If the PPC win, are they going to pass on that £100 to the CO-OP?
I wonder if the "landowners" are actually aware of this fiasco in which they are named? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
When did the Co-op write to say that if your son got a blue badge, they would pay?
If that was recent, then part of your defence is that the landowner has given your son time to get assessed and this action is premature.0 -
if this is the opening salvo, check what bargepole wrote about the "holding defence" in the newbies sticky thread, post #5 I think0

Hi
Guys Dad - The offer to pay then get the BB ran out 31st December.
Redx - this is the 'final defence statement' - court date is in 16 days!0 -
To repeat the question asked above:-
When did the Co-op write to say that if your son got a blue badge, they would pay? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Hi
Tistontana - sorry - the co-op wrote to son on 24th November 2014 in response to his letter of complaint (compiled with help on here).
They offered my son the opportunity to pay the PCN and then be assessed for a BB and if he was allocated one they would "ask the parking company, as a one off, to refund the cost of the parking ticket, providing you agree that when shopping with us in future, you will always display your BB.
UKCPS responded to son's Part 18 request with their objection on 9th December and finished the letter with the offer for my son to pay £60 plus £25 court fees before 31st December 2014 - the court case would be withdrawn. Then if son could provide a valid BB prior to 1 June 2015 the Claimant (UKCPS) will refund the whole £85.
Son does not want to claim for a BB or any other benefits at this point in his life. So this did not really change the original situation.
Hope this clarifies things0 -
Did you appeal and who are the solicitors ?
last time I will ask.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
It's usually Mr Hasbeen ( the office tea-boy) who signs UKCPS' court papers. He is not a solicitor.
here is the original thread on PPP:-
