  • strong smells, particularly food smells STILL make me feel queasy and im 26 weeks today!
so there really is no telling im afraid!

with my first i wasnt sick once (but felt the nausea a LOT)
with this one ive been sick, but only on one trip to the bathroom per night usually just before bed,
as weird as it sounds i always knew early on on the days i would end up needing to be sick (no idea how) and i always felt fine straight afterwards,

i do know people who suffered terribly, so its really a wait and see game to see how your daughter will be,
i know a lot of people recommend those travel sickness sea bands to wear all the time....hope this ramble helps!

she has a really good chance of being over her sickness by then, but sadly there is no way of telling and nothing you can really do about it anyway!

    fingers crossed for you! :D

I had horrendous sickness in 2 out of 3 pregnancies, I can totally sympathise. Hopefully she should have moved out of that stage by then.

The only thing that helped for me was to eat constantly. It's not nice to eat when feeling sick but the sickness is worse with an empty stomach. Depending on her tastes at the moment, stick to healthy snacks to eat. During one pregnancy all I wanted was savoury so I snacked on rice cakes, crackers and savoury snack-a-jacks, the next pregnancy I wanted sweet so I stuck to fruit. I hope she feels better soon.

Morning sickness is a good sign that the pregnancy is established by the way, so in a way it's a good thing (not for the poor woman experiencing it though!)

I don't have any advice for the morning sickness itself unfortunately... but a link has been proven between morning sickness and breast cancer. Apparently the more sick you are the lower your chances of getting breast cancer later in life... so it is a blessing in disguise! I really hope that she feel better in time for your holiday tho.

  • Hi, I totally sympathise - I'm 20 weeks and I think it's now just about gone but I have to be careful in the morning. Get up slowly - if the dizzyness starts then the problems start. Try cranberry juice in the morning (I know people say apple but it really didn't work for me but cranberry did). Also a ginger biscuit before bed (as it has a lot to do with nothing being on her stomach overnight) and if all else fails just be sick!!!! I sometimes found that it's just a bit of bile and throth (sorry to be disgusting) but once it's out it tends to pass pretty quickly - just try not to make it a daily occurance as you can upset your stomach.
I hope that helps a bit (believe me a tried many many things) But I echo others comments that everyone is different so if it does linger then try a variety of things and see what's best for you.

  • Two things that worked for my OH's horrendous MS were lemons and ginger. You get a lemon and chop it into about 6 bits then put the bits into a small resealable bag like a freezer bag. When the dreaded sickness strikes, you reach for the bag and breathe in...helps no end.

Ginger also works and is said to be an anti-seasickness remedy but just the smell can work too. You need to slice or grate it though to get the maximum amount of aroma.

    Best of luck.
