Advice needed about sickness insurance

Hello everyone I am new to this site and would really appreciate some help and opinions about what to do next.
I may have a degenerative disease as yet undiagnosed. GP belives possible multiple sclerosis, neurologist does not think anything wrong, so we are getting 2nd opinion. Have had spinal surgery in the past 3 years.
Question 1, Does this mean for insurance purposes that I have a pre-existing condition, due to previous surgery or for my current undiagnosed symptoms??
Question 2. If it is a disease which attacks occasionally and I can work some but not all of the time, would an insurance policy pay out at all??
Question 3. Bearing all that in mind, if it is serious, what employer is going to put up with you being off evry 6 weeks when the attacks happen? Surely and insurance policy of some kind may exist to help me?
Question 4. I only work 22.5 hours a week employed , but have also registed as self employed as I have been trying to start my own business as a therapist, when my own health allows and that currently earns me zilch, hence the part time job....so, this is all so complicated for my brain,
CAN ANYONE ADVISE WHERE TO LOOK NEXT??
I will be gratefull for any advice/help at all
regards
Jacqui

It will be considered a pre-existing condition as you have been receiving medical help for the problem.
Some permanent health/income protector insurances will sometimes make a payment if you have to take a lower paying job because of your illness/disability. I'm not sure if they make provision for payments for somebody who can only hold down their job when their health is up to it. You would need to read your policy to see what the terms & conditions are.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
