I would be round the "injured parties" house with a camera - surreptitiously filming them walking to the shops etc to prove that they are not injured !!!

Tell your wife to stop worrying, I know it's upsetting but she isn't going to have her head chopped off or anything so drastic.

The worst thing that will happen is that premiums will go up. That's it, noting more than that.

Its only metal, its done and over with. Let those who you pay deal with it, deal with it.

Make her a cup o' tea and give her a hug.....

I wouldn't worry too much. I had something similar happen to me some years ago.

I scanned in the papers for my own records then forwarded them to the insurers - who told me they did not know what the other side were playing at as the had already made full and final settlement.

It is why you have insurance, though - and my premium did not go up by a significant amount.

Good luck tomorrow ... let us know how you get on, I am surprised that the Claim didn't go straight to your Insurers as you said your wife exchanged details and the Claimant went straight onto CCMCC to make a claim normally the expert medical report is sort after liability is accepted by your Insurers and the Medical Expert has to be agreed with your Insurers! (if OnanTheBarbarian says that's correct of course).
