If it's a recurring comp every month then they should be posted each month and not posted all at once, months in advance.
    .

It's not a straightforwards yes or no for me as I totally agree with the quoted text above,
But don't think if a comp opens in the next day or so it's such a big deal, the 1st is manic, with it falling on a Sunday we will be busy on Sunday, Monday with loads of new ones so it's whatever suits poster and makes their lives easier.

I'm sorry if my opinion offends, it's my opinion and I loveeeeeeeeee you all xxxxxxxx

I voted no, because it annoys me if I click it and its not open yet. But its not a problem if the poster puts (not open) or something similar in the title.
I just enter and forget...hoping to win something! :)

I voted yes because, if I don't post a comp when I see it, I tend to forget and then it doesn't get posted at all. :o As long as the opening date is clearly flagged, I'm fine with this when other people do it, too.

    I voted Yes :)
Because unless a sub-section is created for 'comps not open yet' then there is a chance the comp might not get posted.
Also when one person posts several comps of the 'not open yet' variety it is tidier & often more legible (than a free for all trying to post before some one else does :o)
I think that comps get bumped when open & there is the end date comping facility too :) so it shouldn't be a big problem really. :o

Voted yes, suppose that should be qualified. So long as OP has put not open yet or whatever somewhere in the header or prominently in the body.
I can tick and wait til its bumped. I don't bookmark them and I don't usually subscribe.
I scroll through and look at what the comp is for before looking at how to enter. So it may be fantastic item and then I look closer and see it Raff so I skip it.
I would rather it posted early than not posted at all.

I vote yes - I just keep a note of which ones I need to go back to

And if I'm comping by end date, trying to catch up, it won't bother me anyway.

This is fine - there are other things I'd change before this !

If it's a few days before the comp opens then I don't see that as a problem. However, there are some comps already posted here which are months off and even 9 months off, which IMO is crazy. It relies on the casual user viewing in 'discussed' all the time to have any chance of seeing the comps or bookmarking to revisit in Nov/Dec.

Example https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5170846 Comp opens 18/12 and it's been live on the forum for almost a month already.

I think there should be a maximum date eg. starts in 1 week

I usually go through enddates the day before anyway to catch anything I've missed, so the only occasion I'd have an issue with them being posted before opening is enter early ones I guess!

Voted YES! Early posts better than none at all so I appreciate for their time to make the posts. :A
