If there were no speed traps and everyone drove at whatever speed they wanted to, many more innocents would be killed. Deterrents are not high enough.

I agree completely. I'm one of those annoying motorists who stick to speed limits and have a long crowd of impatient drivers behind me, I think the more police we have catching drivers who can't obey the rules the better. But sometimes there are other crimes going on which could be stopped if the police had the manpower.

my tenant got reported for living with her ex husband while she was claiming benefits .
They interviewed both of them ,asked to see bank statements with his address .As he wasnt living with her and he had remarried the case was closed .
However she is living with her new partner for 10 years and has two children with him and they couldnt spot that .

So as long as you are getting your rent you don't care about their fraud? :rotfl:

The resources the government put into investigate benefit fraud totally dwarfs the resources put into tax fraud investigation.

I hesitate to ask what evidence you can provide to support your comparative?

I personally believe there is a place for action and resources to reduce benefit fraud and to reduce tax evasion. As they fall into different public bodies I don't see the point in comparing their investment and return.

I have no hesitation in supporting the outing of benefit fraudsters and tax evaders. I also support the need to provide social justice and benefits for the needy who have fallen on hard times.

The demonizing of which you speak originates in the lap of those who commit the fraud and pretend to be needy.

If people only reduced speed because of speed traps, there would be an awful lot more speeding, given that there are very few speed cameras on the roads round here...

Just be careful not to let it be known that you knew she was lying to the HE while she paid you her rent. They would go after you for fraud as well as her.
