This is about standard pay up here in the north west. I get slightly more from the other company. I stopped doing supply in secondary schools as it's mostly cover supervisor work for about £65 a day so at least this is better paid than that and I take Friday off.
I'm going to claim my mileage because I do all my lesson planning, marking, invoicing and making resources in my house and don't even have time to visit the staff room in school.0 -
Just seen where you are from - if you bump into Kenyon from the Wirral you can ask him about HMRC! Seriously, on the basis of your post provided you keep the evidence I foresee no problems for you in claiming the mileage. On a practical note, I have limited company contractors on my books who are claiming £10k-plus per year in travelling costs to a single site (before everyone jumps on me, not necessarily the same single site each year!) and HMRC have never shown the slightest bit of interest.Hideous Muddles from Right Charlies0
