Ok bare with me this is my first post. On paper im working 24hours a week. Am I currently entitled to working tax? From what I can find out the minimum is 30hours per week. I have asked my employer and can get my hours upped to 30per week if it means im entitled to working tax help. Ive worked for over 2years with 24hours per week on my wage slips so im not sure if any back payment is available in my case. Im 26 and the amount per hour is minimum wage. Any guidence or a point to a credable source would be great. Thank you.

Im single living with a friend as a house share on a private rented property. Council tax is paid and registered under both names. I have a child age 5 but lives with her mother. Maintanance is paid weekly and I see her each weekend. I dont have any disabilities. Thank you for the help just feels like im missing out on something owed that could help me out0

When you say you could get 30 hours on paper - do you mean you would actually be working 30 hours or your wage slips would just show that?

I would be working that amount of hours. There isnt much more time available to work for full time but my employer is fine with me doing an extra hour each day wich would bring me up to the 30hours per week entitlement. Just curious to see what it would be per week extra and the extra monies from the wage untill I find some full time employment.0

once you change to working 30 hours per week you can apply, there will be noting to backdate as you will not qualify for them
You should be around £60 per week better off with the income from the additional hours + WTC (if you pay maintenance via CSA then they will include this in the calculations too)0 -
Thank you for the help. From what I can find its about £15 per week on top of the wage for WTC. The maintenance is paid in cash as it was 5pounds more for the gov to take it and hand it to my childs mother. Admin fee's I think. Seemed stupid letting them handle it when its easily done my self. What kind of proof is needed as my wage is paid in cash weekly. I only use my bank account if im purshaseing items online. The person I share the house with pays all the bills as he gets paid into the bank monthly and I give my half weekly. So all the bills apart from council tax are in his name.0
