Hi All
I've just purchased a new home and it required 3 new bathrooms of which i ordered online. I took delivery of a toilet and basin from the above company 32 days ago and only yesterday got around to fitting it. When my plumber opened the box he noticed the cistern lid had been cracked and i asked him to put it back in the box so i could contact the bathroom company.
Upon contacting them i was met with a defence of we have a 7 day policy and items should have been checked upon delivery, in certain circumstances we extendy this to 28 days however yours has been 32 days so we can't do anything you will have to puchase a new one.
I then spoke to a contact centre team leader who reiterated the same thing and said nothing could be done.
This morning i have then had the joy of speaking to the conctact centre manager Karl Burton, he again said the same thing and wasn't prepared to do anything.
I have now taken this up with the Founder/Director Mr Colin Stevens and sent him a full overview of my complaint. I also raised this on his twitter of which he came back with a sarcastic comment and now emailed me back saying as per your tweet please take this up with trading standards.
What a useless company these really are, they shouldn't be trading!
Am i right in thinking under the sales of goods act the first 6 months the onus is on them to prove the goods weren't faulty/damaged when i received them?
I have also raised a charge back through paypal as i used my credit card, they seemed to agree with me and advised the seller would have 10 days to respond or i will get a full refund. I'm concerned that these rogues will find a loop hole in the system.
Anyone else had any bad experiences with either of the 2 trading companies?
Thanks in advance
