IE 10 downloads .doc files as .wiz

Internet Explorer has started downloading .doc files as .wiz.
When I hover over a hyperlink it shows the file as .doc. But when I click on the link the filename is shown in the "View your downloads" box as .wiz. When I download the file it downloads as .wiz.
When I go to the same webpage using Chrome, the file downloads correctly as .doc.
Any ideas why this has started to happen in IE?
