Places for selling unwanted tickets back (noel Gallagher, notts) for face value?

Hey guys,

We've ended up with a couple of spare tickets to an event next week due to a couple of us splitting with our partners since booking.

The event is sold out, other than some seats with no stage view (ours have a great view). We're not looking to make any money, just offer them back to fans for face value.

Does anybody know of any good sites where we could put details on?

Cheers!

First of all, good on you for being willing to sell at face value.

You can use StubHub, Viagogo, etc to sell at face value. It's probably the easiest option, but as an occasional seller I choose steer clear of theses sites. I don't like the way they profit from being middlemen for touts. Also, I think buyers (and maybe sellers?) will have to pay commission on top of the face value price.

    Other options might be to:

    - See if the venue will accept returns. If an event is sold out they sometimes will, even if the T&Cs of ticket sale say otherwise.
    - Offer the tickets on online fan forums / communities for the artist involved.
    - If you're on Twitter, sell them via @twickets.
    - Pop them on Gumtree

I used to use and recommend Scarlet Mist, but sadly this site has now closed.

I've also found fan communities the best place to sell on tickets as you know they are less likely to be sold on again for profit

I sold 2 tickets at face value to a sold out concert last year when one of our group was hospitalised a few days before the concert. I put an ad on Gumtree at midnight. When I got up at 6 a.m. I'd had 4 replies. Sold to the first to e-mail which was a lovely young lady who drove across town in rush hour traffic to pick up the tickets before I left for work.

Just did a quick search for stubhub............it appears you can't buy tickets on ebay any more.........this stubhub tout site seems to have taken over and the prices are high....no chance of any face value tickets there.

The ticket agencies have actually become the touts it seems.

Stubhub is part of the Ebay group... just like Gumtree and Paypal are.

    So?

They are still making a killing from the likes of the OP who have a gig ticket to sell.

I would understand if they were trying to sell 100 odd tickets above face value, but why are they unable to sell a couple of tickets privately, just to redeem face value?

The likes of Stubhub have a monopoly on the resale of tickets and it is wrong:(

There is also no bidding on stubhub, the prices are basically all well above face value on all tickets. No chance of getting a face value ticket or even a last minute bargain any more. Ebay has basically opened up a tout site to make even more money.

  • I usually use Seatwave or Viagogo to buy ticks to sold out shows, but in this case if you can be bothered I'd sell it to people outside, or even a tout if you're impatient like me :) - this way you can hope a real fan will get a chance to go :)
