Nothing worse than being behind someone, who starts faffing about with a card payment for £2.
Have you never been behind the person who's picked several items that won't scan, then when asked to pay has to rummage around a deep handbag to find a purse containing a sheaf of coupons, most of which are not valid, and finally counts out a heap of small change?
Chip & PIN is quicker than cash in major supermarkets; contactless is quicker still.0 -
50p sounds about right for a debit card. They do have to pay and for debit cards it's usually a flat rate between 25p - £1 depending on their size and deal with the bankChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

Just having a quick look at a few banks websites they are still showing a flat rate fee for debit cards on their merchant services offering0
