Please help my Landlord!

I have a house share with my landlord. I have an appalling credit rating but his is spotless. He has recently been turned down for an AmEx card linked to Costco and I think it is because I also have a card via his business. Please can you tell me how he can declare himself financially independent from me? Thanks in advance :-)

He should check his credit record and see if you are shown as being linked to him: if so, ask him to seek further advice.

Incidentally, a spotless credit record is no guarantee of acceptance for any financial product: his rejection for this card could well be the result of their marketing strategy.

If you have Costco membership, you can add others to your account.

When you join Costco you can get a card for anyone living in the same house free of charge. This is what I have.

I'm not shacked up with my landlord - I am gay! Question is, as you say on paper it sounds like I am. How do I prove I am not?

Ok, see the forms linked above. It's relatively easy to get yourself disassociated but it may take a few weeks to update their records.
