cost of solicitor for initial consultation over rent dispute?

Options
Hi guys,

I'm currently in dispute with a management agency over paying rent as I moved out during my fixed term tenancy. I only moved out because they accepted my notice which I took as accepting te surrender of m tenancy. How much would it cost to speak to a solicitor roughly to see if I have a case or if I have to bite the bullet and pay?

Thanks

Some will give you 30 minutes free to see if you have a case. Male sure they are tenancy solicitors.

What words were said and/or written exactly by you?

    Did they re-let ?
That would be the only real bargaining chip as it is a mitigation of loss.

You are not in dispute with an agency. You are in dispute with your landlord, whoever that was.

If you tell us specifically what happened, what was said, and what evidence you have, we might be able to give you an idea of your standing without bothering with a lawyer.

If this is a small claims case, it would be quite normal to defend yourself anyway as you won't get costs awarded, though I wouldn't dissuade you from seeking advice in preparation.
