How does this work?
I have been signed off for 10 months and unlikely to be signed off any further (dont feel ready, but never mind). I will have to start looking for a job and thus become a "job seeker". Do I just call DWP and tell them and they transfer me to the Jobcentreplus?
Anyone have any experience?

You need to close your ESA claim first then claim JSA the next day, To claim JSA after closing an ESA claim you must do this via the telephone as the internet application has a button saying if you were on ESA in the last 6 month.
It isn't really a transfer of benefits, You need to make a new application for JSA, go for your initial interview to open the claim fully after that they send your JSA application to get processed which can take 2/3 weeks,0 -
Not really sure what you mean? Have you been on ESA already and converting to JSA? So have you been told you can no longer get ESA?0

Unless you have not been assessed yet by Atos/Maximus for ESA eligibility I'm not sure why you would need a fit/sick note. Have you not had a WCA yet? If you did what was the outcome? If you were found to be 'not fit for work' you'd be given ESA & put in support or WRAG groups. You won't need a sick note til you get the dreaded brown envelope with esa50 through the door.
So you won't need to go onto JSA just yet.0
