    Use live chat
I wouldn't recommend that. Live chat gets you through to the bog standard customer reps who never seem to have a clue. The same with the normal customer service email.

It is only the team who get intercepts when you put the WRT code in your email subject, if requested like earlier in the thread, who ever seem to be able to do anything.

So basically what your saying is, you got a phone contract, set up DD, then never checked to see if it was been paid in over a year ?

Have to agree with Glentoran obviously you understood you would be liable for the monthly line rental, and other charges, the fault i`m afraid, lies as much with you, as it does vodaphone.

Do you not check your bank account on a regular basis ?

Always check your accounts regularly, that way mistakes like this wont happen.
To my mind, both you and Vodaphone are each 50% liable, they should of noticed no payments were been made, and so should you.

There is an adjudication/ombudsman service you can complain to :

    http://www.ombudsman-services.org/what-can-we-deal-with-communications.html

They would more than likely reach the same conclusion as me on this.

Already shown the OP the correct procedure to complain about a mobile phone provider.

Hi Lee, are you any nearer to helping resolve this, i have messaged you twice on separate occasions now as you requested and still heard nothing (yawn). Vodafone have now got a collection agency (Frederickson Internation) to start chasing me. Clearly i am not paying them and i really need somebody at Vodafone to pull their finger out and respond to me to get a mutual resolve.

    Thanks Lee,

    Nick

Have you talked to them on Facebook? I had a problem where I paid off a contract to get a better deal instead of renewing and they just put the money on my account and didn't close the contract. They then asked me for £90 to pay off the contract that they hadn't closed and wanted it right then! I bombarded them with messages on facebook and twitter and finally got phone call from the 'social media' team who finally wrote off the £90 as a gesture of 'good will' (even though it was their fault) and cancelled the contract...After my current contract runs out I will NEVER go with Vodafone again...
