Yes vodafone made mistakes in not requesting the payment but surely you knew they werent being paid?
For several years did you not wonder why you werent paying a bill for your mobile phone?
I have never had a hard copy of a bill or opened a bill of any form from Vodafone.
With regards to the direct debits, i have never checked individual amounts and people taking a direct debit (i pay everything this way - including my rugby subs!). I do check the overall total of outgoing direct debits to make sure this is near the amount to be taken out each month - however as Vodafone never took any money out this was not seen as abnormal (the overall figure) - i never had a call to say i was over my bill/outstanding money, in fact two months before i called to report my phone lost they called me to increase my internet data!!!
I get what you are saying about checking the direct debits, but the entire point of setting up a direct debit is to hand this to a company who deal with it for you, so you dont have to. I have never had an issue with anything like this in my life with anybody else so never realised to check to ensure people can be as incompetant as these guys!0 -
Is this the same issue you have asked for advice about in your other post ?

This is exactly the same as your previous post where we advised that the second time, it's probably your responsibility for not ensuring that the DD was being taken.Aqua £160.00 / EE £289.60
Total debt = £449.600 -
Why do you have two accounts, and why have you re-posted this same thread under a different username?
Although you set up a DD to pay the bills, it is still your own responsibility to ensure that there is enough money in the account to pay the bill, and that the bill is actually being paid. Even more so because this wasn't the first time it had happened, there would be even more reason for you to ensure this was being taken from your account.
Also, you should probably watch out which account you're actually logged into when replying to your own threads you posted from your other accounts.Aqua £160.00 / EE £289.60

But you had this exact issue previously, I don't understand why you wouldn't have checked it was set up this time.
So Vodafone never emailed you to your bill? Or chased for payment in Anyway? I find that strange, I paid them 1 day late by mistake and got a text message saying it was overdue0 -

My email is hin501@AOL.com im not sure if I received automated emails but on both I received confirmation it was sent and the "thank you, somebody will be in touch shortly" message (I screen grabbed both with date and times for proof). Is there an email you can send that actually works as both messages had confirmations but none had emails to confirm. I feel I've wasted a good 3/4 month chasing you guys now and the amount of time and money im wasting chasing you with no help from Vodafones end is getting really tiresome...
I would call but a promise on phone call from one of your staff is the starting of this entire problem and in all honesty I have no faith in any of your systems at all. Phone calls are simply shunned and your online contact forms either aren't working, are being ignored or are taking a ridiculous amount of time. Do I need to submit a hand written letter via recorded mail to get any response??
Cheers,
Nick0 -
