Hi. My OH has a Barclaycard with a balance of £3000. £1000 of this is on 0% due to end soon. The other £2000 is on 0% not due to end until next year.
If I pay £1000 to my card will they allocate this against the 0% rate that is about to end or do I need to ring them?
Thanks

I've had a quick look at the Terms and Conditions on their website and found the following on the PDF download:
If you have more than one promotional balance at the same
interest rate, we’ll use your payment to reduce the balance
with the promotional rate that ends first. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at that for me. I had a look on the website and couldnt find anything. We want to get this paid asap as the money is sitting in our current account which is a dangerous place for it to be! I can move it out of there today.0 -

No problem, more than happy to help.
I couldn't find it on their website either. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
I've got a similar question with regard to my MBNA credit card account.
I currently have an outstanding balance on my card which I will pay off within two months. In addition MBNA have offered me a 0% interest deal on balance transfers.
If I transfer a balance onto my card whilst it still has an outstanding balance on it, how will my payments be allocated against the balance and, more importantly, would I lose all the benefits of the 0% on my transferred balance whilst I was paying of the original outstanding balance.
Hope that makes sense....0 -

Yes, it makes sense.
I've tried to find terms and conditions relating to any form of MBNA credit card on their website but seemingly couldn't without using the eligibility checker first.
As you've already got an existing balance on the card any payments you made to the account (until it's cleared) would go towards that first (seeing as it'll end sooner than the new offer you've been given.)
That is based on the BarclayCard information provided above. So long as you don't do anything to risk losing your promotional rate(s) such as missed/late payments then you *shouldn't* lose any of the benefits. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history.
