Morning all,

Drizzling with rain here so washing will have to go on the airer or in the td. OH gone to the boot sale but I am not sure there will be much there.

Topsy we have 5 dogs here !! Two sleep upstairs and three down, but once we got into bed the downstairs ones started howling and started next doors dog off :o. Its hard work as they are all getting on and all have meds to take so we have a page of instructions for each dog :rotfl:, also we are continually up and down letting one or another out for a wee ! my house is covered in dog hair I will have a quick tidy round this morning but will leave most of it till they go home tomorrow ! I do miss having a dog but would never have 5 !

I have dd here she slept last night I will take her home later stopping at the supermarket on the way so that she can stock up. Not sure whats for dinner might have a takeaway as I am shattered, the dogs kept me awake till 2.30

    Have good days all xx

    Morning :hello:

I'm recovering, lol. Not a hangover :D We ordered three tons of hardcore, it turned up yesterday morning right in the middle of rush hour. Very busy traffic so he couldn't reverse to tip it, he'd have blocked the road. He pulled up alongside, half on the kerb, the sides of the truck had hinges so I thought he was going to tip it off sideways. But he tipped it off the back and a third of it landed in the road. Then he left – I was bluddy furious! Busy traffic in both directions, including school buses who didn't really have room to drive around it, so the man-trus grabbed a shovel each and dodged cars to get it off the road ASAP. Our neighbour was scraping ice off her car, poor thing nearly got hit by a coach who decided he didn't need to swerve around anyone Because He's Important. I'm still feeling stressed :D

I managed to pull my hip while pushing a wheelbarrow (Not sure how? I'm just clever I think, lol) and was Mrs Limp-A-Lot for the rest of the day, so I was useless. Morrisons delivered the shopping, I was so grateful not to have to go out for it.

Coco, Peanut (the bantams) and Rosie are laying eggs now (not sure if I mentioned that before?). The bantam eggs are so small but taste amazing. Rosie's eggs are a dark chocolate colour – I haven't tasted them yet though. I'm going to have to put all the different eggs together for a photo, there's quite a variety :D

I've done my usual saturday morning jobs – refilling the tea, coffee, etc. jars and decanting shower gels etc. into prettier bottles than the shops sell them in :D Everything's tidy. Not sure what to do with myself really, I'm taking it easy on my hip so don't want to do any gardening. The weather isn't great so I don't want to go for a walk. I have lots to crochet but if I sit for too long, I'll seize up.

  • Good Morning everyone wet, cold and thoroughly miserable here today. I'm mounting an expidition to W8rose on the bus for a few bits and then after walking the hound am going to ground for the afternoon and watching the Rugby! Dug some pork and chilli sausages out of the freezer for tea tonight don't quite know what I'll make but it might be just sausages and sweet potato mash, comfort food for 'orrible weather days. I just want to be warm!!! Lyn xxx.
  • tru - I think it was you that was chitting potatoes? I am doing some too but don't know when they are ready! They are in the conservatory (light but not very warm at times) and have started to get little green bits on, I think they may be the start of leaves. What now?!

I leave mine until the shoots are about 2" long, then plant them. I use old dustbins with the bottom cut off, turned upside down. Put four or five potatoes at the bottom then cover with soil/compost/a bit of sand - whatever I have handy, lol. When the leaves start to show, cover again. I keep doing this til the bins are full, then let them grow and flower. When the flowers have died, I lift the bin off and let it all collapse on the floor :D Sometimes it won't lift off so I give it a few good kicks til it falls over, lol.

Some people don't bother chitting at all, they just plant the potato in the ground and only cover them once or twice, and still seem to get a good crop. So I don't know if there's a best way really, I just know that the bins work for me and I'm not changing the method in case it doesn't work for me :D

    Thank you.
  • Hi all

I've just stopped for a cuppa, DGS has gone to play football, my dog sitting has been cancelled & I must say I'm relieved, my potassium must be low as I'm struggling to get upstairs, I had banana for breakfast & spinach in my salad for lunch, hopefully the levels will lift soon & I'll feel better.

I've done 3 loads of washing & decluttered 10 empty cardboard boxes from my sewing room. I've also photographed some 4ply yarn, vintage knitting patterns & embroidery kits to list on Ebay, even if the eye surgery works I'm not going to be able to see well enough to do fine knitting or embroidery again.

I'm getting really good at not hoarding clothes & other stuff but I must make more effort with my craft stuff.

Right, back to the coal face.

    Hugs Hester

  • Good afternoon everyone.

Not been posting this week as by the time I sat down to catch up it was rather late.

I hope everyone is well and :grouphug: to all who needs or wants them.

Its very wet and windy here in Kent. DH and I went to Ald* this morning and did the shopping and used my voucher. Luckily we timed it right as the queue in to the car park when we left was so long.

I have just caught up with the ironing and need to put it away. Lots more washing to do and then I must do some housework as if I don't will have it all to do tomorrow and then won't get a rest before going back to work.

Going to make a salmon pasta bake for tea, not sure about a pudding. I also need to make a loaf of bread and may make a cake as well while I have the oven on. Well better get a move on, as I seem to have a long list of chores to do now:rotfl:

Have a good evening everyone, stay warm and dry!

    Evening all.

Just a quick visit from me. I've had a lovely Saturday. Shopping this morning and we both fell asleep at around 2 and woke up at 6. Must have needed the sleep I guess.

Its quiet in the house with Youngest away. He's not loud anyway and we don't see him much as he's in his room but what a difference it makes when there's one person less in the house.

Not sure what's happening tomorrow. I want to prepare and cook some home made meals for hubby to take away with him next week as he is living on junk food and it can't be good for him.

My onwards and forwards can wait till tomorrow,

    Have a good night all.
