Is there a "best" time of year to buy a pram?

Good Morning All,

With my first due in December, my mind has inevitably drifted on to all things pram like and with money saving in mind :money: (although I would still like to buy new).
Is there a best time of year to buy a pram? I'm not sure whether there are sales and the such like as babies comes at any time but I'd hate to buy something and then find out that if i'd waited a few weeks longer I could have got it much cheaper!!

Your experiences are much appreciated.

Buy one end of Season = Mothercare has a Sale on now, or wait until Boxing day sales.
  • now is a good time if you go to https://www.nurseryandtoys.com

there are at least 2 travel systems reduced by a huge amount http://www.nurseryandtoys.com/icat/86
and the rest of the site is pretty good value too,

personally im not a fan of the TS, i like a real pram (i dont mean a charity shop looking 70s silver cross affair either) i mean REAL prams, with a carrycot... and having baby in a comfortable lie back posititon, not squished up into a car seat all day, but hey... thats probably just me!
but its a good job i kept my daughters 3 in 1 because they are almost extinct now!

We got the Mamas and Papas Pliko p3 from the factory shop, as well as the carrycot option, and the car seat. http://www.mamasandpapas.co.uk/range/1965/
Both the car seat and the carrycot fit onto the pram. We used the carrycot on the pram when DS was very little, as well as for day time naps. The car seat should do us until DS is a year old.
We don't really use the car seat on the pram anymore - DS has been more than happy just being in the main pram, which reclines almost flat with a harness to stop him slipping backwards out of it if we go uphill..lol.

I do however wish we'd investigated getting a pram where the child faced the parent, but DS doesn't seem to mind facing away.
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.

thats another reason why i love my 3 in 1,
when your done with the carry cot option, it also has a chair that can be put in either way round, DD started off facing me and as she got older she gradually got turned outwards to face the oncoming world!
but if it was windy and cold, or if she was feeling a bit clingy, i turned her back to face me again....
the only problem with it is its very heavy, and as i dont drive we also had to have an umbrella (ella ella) stroller to take when we were going on the bus / train,

We saved £100 on our Quinny Buzz - bought it in the winter sale at babiesrus so the saving paid for the car seat which fits onto it.

I would also advise finding a good independent baby gear outlet and negotiating a deal to buy everything you need from them. We have saved 15% on nearly everything we have bought from our local store.

Boots.com have 20% off all baby things at the moment, till end of August I think (including prams etc).
kiddiddicare.com is also a good website for prams at cheap prices.

I am due in January and thinking of either buying:-

Loola Pushchair (reduced to £183.00 on Boots.com) - but then I would buy a 2nd hand carrycot for it, then sell carrycot as soon as it's outrown. Baby can face mum or away in this pushchair

Hauck Infinity - comes with a carry cot and pushchair seat and under £200 on kiddicare.com - again baby can face mum in this pushchair.

Silvercross Linear Freeway - Seen these for under £200 on e-bay (new). The pushchair is a carrycot too and can face either mum or away from mum

Thewaltons is right, buy now or wait till january sales. The new season is about to start and new catalogues are due out.
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person to
use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.:D

    Hi,

Remembered your thread, whilst looking through boots sale items saw this.

Wondered if it would be any use to you.

    http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1086739&classificationid=1047992&slmRefer=000

    Cosatto Go_Go Travel System - £44.24 reduced from £164.99

Sorry, no idea how to do linky things, but if you copy and paste the link to your browser it should work.

Sorry link, does not seem to work by copy and pasting. If you have a look through the boots sale items, its in there. There is a link to the sales items on the Grabbit board. - 75% off boots thread. Not very good at this am I?
