This is my first post, so sorry if it's in the wrong place. Can anyone tell me if I'm right in thinking that if goods purchased on a credit card are stolen within 90 of purchase, then you can claim against your card. The item in question was £180.

Almost certainly not.
Occasionally a card may offer some sort of protection but it's rare and not statutory.
Which card is it?
Won't your home insurance cover it?0 -
According to MSE article, only some Amex cards offer this now:

i've never heard of that concept... purchase protection makes sense, but insurance against theft is quite something. Amex:T0

Thank you for your replies.
My card is Lloyds Platinum MasterCard.
The item in question was bought as a gift and unfortunately the person doesn't have home insurance.0 -
so that would be a no as it was a gift to someone elseDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Some credit cards did indeed insure against loss through damage, theft etc for free but it was a long time ago and they seem to have stopped this service.0
