tumble dryer- cheapest place?

i know that a tumble dryer isnt very money saving, but unfortunately i do need one in my flat. i cant hang my washing on the balcony as the man upstairs has erm,, problems (he urinates off his balcony- wouldnt have believed it if i hadnt seen it for myself, though it was my dog!) and after my dryer blew up 2 weeks ago i have been using clothes horses but i just dont have the space for them.
with the imminent arrival of my 2nd child, i really need to get one as my washing is starting to get out of control.
can anyone reccommend a good place to go? i dont have a credit card so online is no good for me, and a condenser dryer is preferable as otherwise i have to keep moving the dryer out from under the worktop to hang the hose out the window!
thanks in advance

as you are only restricted to purchasing at a shop, best place would be the likes of comet, currys. Argos are pretty reasonable too.
I'm currently looking for one but I need a vented one.0 -
Hi katiesmummy,
I can't suggest any dryers (and yes, my wife wants one too, so I'll be looking them up soon), but regarding buying them:
-Do you have any shops nearby who price match, in which case you can take along a cheap Internet price printout and pick it up there, (I don't know if Currys etc do this for their websites versus shops, but no harm in asking)?
-Do you have a friend whose card can be used, and you pay them the money in cash?
-Can you apply for a card and limit its value to the low hundreds just for Internet purchases, which is what we've done?
Good luck, HJ, and hope the baby thing goes OK! (I settled for a niece and nephew)
PS, after your second child is born, what will your moniker be then?;)
Sorry to hear about your neighbours, if you can avoid being identified, can he be reported?0 -
I bought one from Comet it cost £120 it's an Indesit nothing special, but it does the job. A condensor is ok but they are prone to catching fire and you'd be looking at around £250 for one.0

thanks for the advice
i dont really have anyone that i would ask to do something like that for me i.e. purchase something on their card and give them the cash- i dont like asking things like that!
not sure about the price matching- will have to look into that one, could be useful
cant apply for a card cos of credit problems so that wont work either- think my best bet will be a shop willing to do a price match. i have been keeping an eye on freecycle but nothing has come up in my area so far
think my new name will probably be nevergonnasleepagain going by how my dd was when she was a baby!
i have reported my neighbour to the council sooo many times- i even took the clothes of mine that he urinated on to let them smell cos they obviously didnt believe me at all! the long and the short of it is the man has obvious problems and whenever someone from the council tries to go upstairs and talk to him he goes mad and starts screaming and shouting at them- i think they just dont want to bother. the few times i have been up there he either ignores the door completly or answers it stark naked thus giving me a lovely full frontal view!2011- new year, new start.

omg i didnt know that re fires! i think i would rather get a vented one again then and just hang the hose out the window like i did before- its not like a dryer is heavy and hard to move around is it!
thanks for that- if you hadnt told me i almost definately would have gone and got a condenser2011- new year, new start.

Comet have a condeser Beko, I think for £199.
If you have a credit card that gives a free extra years warranty, buy it with that!
Nationwide, Citi, Shell all do this.
